Just make a new material file by renaming an old one as the video shows, doesn't matter what material it is, just as long as you replace the name just the same.

Huge problem! I accidentally opened the .mesh file with Internet Explorer then changed it to open with OgreMeshy now the mesh stays as a .xml format even though it says .mesh Dx Is there anyway to change it back?

Because everything started opening with IE I changed it to Meshy which might've been a better opening program.

But now this happens:

staffbracelet.mesh.xml =====>

Is converted to a staffbracelet.mesh yet it's still a xml file

All other mesh's in the folder look like this:

and the converted file is still xml.

Is that easier to understand now? ^^

the mesh.xml is not deleted after converting to .mesh

No. You convert the .mesh.xml to .mesh with the ogrexmlconverter tool. Then you can delete the .mesh.xml manually and you can preview the .mesh file with OgreMeshy

I'd try re-watching the video tutorial a few times, there seems to be a step you are missing :3
the blahblah.mesh.xml file should be converted with OgreXmlConverter.exe which makes a brand new file called blahblah.mesh

Make your .mesh files open with OgreMeshy as instructed in the video using "Open With" in Properties.

Go to your server main folder directory and there should be a file called Items.cfg
Open Items.cfg with Notepad++
Depending on what item you recolored, it will be the line of coding which you will copy
In the video I recolored "Antlers" so I'll use that line of code for example.

Code:
antlers;Reindeer Antlers;Head2;0

you simply need to know that the first word "antlers" is the .mesh file name.
The second is "Reindeer Antlers" which is the name that will appear in-game.
The third part is the bone name, but that's not important unless your making new items.

Code:
MeshName;ItemNameInGame;BoneName;0

So in the of the RainbowAntlers I made in the video, the code will look like this.

Code:
RainbowAntlers;Skittle Forest Horns;Head2;0

This code can be put in any order in the item list, so long as it's above the # symbol

Code:

feather;Tail Feather;Tail6;0
pumpkinBasket;Pumpkin;Head2;0;1
RainbowAntlers;Skittle Forest Horns;Head2;0
