This is a guide to start off how to compile your own server!
Compiling is when you jam all the files together and turn it into a specific file, for e.g .exe file.

Here, we are going to make .exe files.
You will need all these tools to Compile.

1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express, you can get it here for 30 Days Trial
http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/en-us/products/2008-editions/express

2. IT Original Source Code, last release, version 0.76

Mirror
Download: http://kito-mirror.staunhansen.dk/download/IT-kovu_0_76.7z
- By Slycan

3. Impressive Title 7 Installer (it's for Media file, you will be needed for your own server, since Kovu didn't require)

4. This package includes (which you will need)
- Ogre Command Line Tools 1.6.0
- Ogre Dependences (Include file and libraries file in IT_Source)
- OgreSDK Setup 1.6.0 (libraries/.lib files needed for IT_Source)
- Ogre v1.6.0 (source/include file needed for IT_Source)
- PagedGeometry (Source/include/library file needed for IT_Source)
- RakNet (Library/Include file needed for IT_Source file)

Guide to Start off

Some things you will need to know
1. Source files from those tools will be put in the src file, in IT_Source/src
2. Include files will be put in IT_Source/Include
and so on.
3. Libraries file are also known as .lib

Getting Started
1. Download all those files in the Download Section
2. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Express
3. Install Impressive Title 7
4. Create a folder that has a lot of space (which will be needed to be used) and put IT-kovu_0_76 and Tools for Server into that folder that you have created.
5. Extract both of them
6. Install OgreSDK Setup 1.6.0
7. Install Ogre Command Line Tools 1.6.0
8. Extract the remain files seperately, which mean right click one by one, and click extract files.

! IMPORTANT !
1. Create a file called "lib" in the IT_Source (put all .lib files in this folder FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.)

Compiling the Files
1. In IT_source folder, open ogremagix.vcproj (which means VC++ Project)
2. Follow what the picture say, set to Release.

HELP! It Said
Code:
fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'Ogre.h': No such file or directory
Well, this is part of compiling, there will be loads more of errors.
You have to find those missing files from Ogre, Ogre Dependencies, OIS, PagedGeometry, and RakNet folders.

For example, my problem is
Quote :
1>c:\users\user\downloads\1\include\SoundManager.h(4) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'Ogre.h': No such file or directory
I would go to
...\ogre\OgreMain\include
and copy all of those things, and put it in
...\IT_source\include
Get the Idea?

Another Example, if I have another problem, let's say
Quote :
1>c:\users\user\downloads\it-kovu_0_76\it_source\src\TreeLoader3D.h(17) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'OgrePrerequisites.h': No such file or directory
Pay attention to the line, the file if located in src, and it is TreeLoader3D.h. The 17 shows what line it is.
Open the file and go to line 17 (to do this, on the down right corner, it will say Ln, double click on it and type the line number (17)
It says
Code:
#include <OgrePrerequisites.h>
Change the < and > into "
It will look like this
Quote :

#ifndef __TreeLoader3D_H__
#define __TreeLoader3D_H__

#include "PagedGeometry.h"
#include "PropertyMaps.h"

#include "OgrePrerequisites.h"

Now you're ready.

To get rid of this, follow the picture.
(I know i skipped some numbers, i was sleepy)
1. Click Project
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the small arrow next to Configuation Properties
5. Click the small arrow next to [b[Linker[/b]
6. Click General
7. Click on Additional Directories
9. Click on the small 3 dots..

10. Click on the file button
11. Type in the directory that I have said in earlier about the lib folder, and make sure you have put all the .lib files in it from PageGeometry, RakNet etc.

Quote :
$(OGRE_HOME) ERROR?!
For windows XP, go to
Start>Right click computer>properties>change properties>advanced>system variables and then set ogre_home.

For Windows 7, go to
Start>Right click computer>Properties>Advanced System Settings>Advanced>Environment Variables...

I added at both (Using Windows 7), User Variables and System Variables. This is what I put in
Quote :
Variable Name: ogre_home
Value: c:\OgreSDK 1.6.0

Edit:
Quote :
THERE'S NO LIBRARY FILES IN SOME OF THE TOOLS?!!!!
Calm down, woman. You neeed to create them yourself
For example, PagedGeometry, simply go to its folder and open PagedGeometryLib.vcproj
It will ask for setup, click next and choose the options you want, since you have the .rar file, you already have the backup.
It will convert into another file.
Now that it's done, click Build and click Build PagedGeometry.

Now go back to the folder, there should be a new folder called lib. Copy everything that is in there and put it in your
IT_Source folder\lib folder.

That's all you need to know, pretty much all common sense.

Enjoy!

Warnings

There are a lot of things you're probably thinking of, cause I can mind read you.
But to tell you the truth, it's going to ruin/crash/make loads of errors to the game.

1. Can we change the mane/head/tail names? Errors will be coming if you change head/mane/tail etc.
2. What if we remove all things related to RakNet? Will it remove the multiplayer and turn it into a Singleplayer/freemode?
"removing all thing related to raknet will make the game impossible to compile." - RedEye
3. Is it possible to customize your character in campaign mode, by putting the Character Editor?
"No" - RedEye
4. Would be great if we can save the game in campaign mode, is it possible?
"No" - RedEye

If you want to try to change something, you'll have to go through millions of files and errors.
Remember that, and you'll never be miserable! Mwahahahahahhahahaaaa

Try copying them both, ogremagix.cpp and SoundManager.cpp in include file and src file.

Make sure that ogremagix.cpp is in src file
\src\ogremagix.cpp

Make sure that SoundManager.cpp is in include file.
\include\SoundManager.cpp

You're welcome ^^
If there's more difficulties, I might compile the thingy, fix all those broken lines etc, and all you guys need to do is just edit the files you want. ^-^

This, but I'm trying this on my own too.

But I fail at everything that has to do with compiling we'll see how that works out.

I have one problem ^^" On first picture, there's "build", but in my C++ there's that "build" missing. I have only: File, Edit, View, Project, Debug, Tools, Windows and Help ._. So...what to do? ^^ XD

I hope you understand me, because sometimes my English isn't English Very Happy XDDD

baaaah this is simplified to most people xD but for me it's like O___O whoa e.e

I cannot get the C++ 2008 version, the only one I see available is 2010 and now I'm wondering what to do next at step 1. of Compiling the Files (I've downloaded the 2010 version)

if you've only got the 2010 version, I'd suggest going to look at KITO's code, because it's simpler, and this code won't compile with 2010 (plus you have to move a bunch of files every which way to get it to even start compiling).
