Whelp, before we scaled our model, the Idle animation was working fine, it's also on the animation list. I added the "TurnLeft" and "TurnRight" animations in there so I would be able to look at it in character creator, to test it out.

After I did that though, this error popped up.

Idle is right here, it exported fine before - we scaled it and now it's doing this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

P.S: I removed the other animations, still a no-go.

Hello. You did not add idle when exporting your model.
When you export it through blender you need to export the model(s) with Ogre Meshes Exporter and add your idle animation (And other animations that you need). Make sure the model(s) are named Body, Head1, or Tail1.

If you don't have ogre meshes exporter: http://www.ogre3d.org/tikiwiki/Blender+Exporter

You need blender 2.49b to use it.

Hello!!

Thank you for answering, I don't understand what you mean by 'export the idle animation'.

I already have a mesh exporter and everything, the names are corresponding to the model/skeleton. I converted it to .mesh, renamed to which heads/bodies I wanted them to be.

These models are a new player model.

I then proceeded to convert, I do not re-name the skeleton file. I simply replace w/e body part I wanted, in this case: Body, Head3, Tail3.

She means that you didn't add animation "Idle" when you exported the model, that's why it says that no state for the animation^^
When you're going to export the animations scroll down and click "add", then choose Idle.

does every model have the correct skeleton name assigned? did you have any manes/tufts/other parts that would not have the idle on them?

When Lazy and I were adding new bodies to DD we had to remove a bunch of animations that are actually only head-specific such as TurnLeft, TurnRight, TurnUp, TurnDown and the mouth animations for lipsyncing etc.

If we did not remove them from the body/tail/mane/tuft etc. then we crashed.

That's odd, we only have "Idle" for the body, tail, and head, no other animations right now.

The tufts I have on right now have their own skeleton, could that be interfering??

- I'll give it another go and remove any tufts and JUST use head, body, tail.

EDIT:

Alright, I edited my character file, now the game simply closes.

"15:22:48: WARNING: rockSlab.mesh is an older format ([MeshSerializer_v1.40]); you should upgrade it as soon as possible using the OgreMeshUpgrade tool."

It's saying that for a lot of meshes all of a sudden, the ogre log, not sure if that has anything to do with.... anything, lol.

That is odd.
I don't know any other solutions.
You may want to try re rigging it just in case. Maybe something went wrong during the process.

How would the rig effect it? I'm not a rigger, but my animator/rigger/modeler had to re-rig out model already, he added some things to make animation and the rig itself better, as I had asked people they said it was fine to add, just not remove.

It's giving me a series of errors, I am able to hop in-game and see the body, it's scale is off, but it looks like it works, the head and tail are other default IT ones which is fine, then it crashes because it can't find a "TurnRight" animation, understandable.

However, it's when I edit my character file to put the new head and tail with the body, that it starts getting weird.

- It will crash because it's missing Wingless.mesh , okay, so I take it off, it's missing 6.mesh, okay.... so I remove the numbers. Then, it simply closes the game, no error to really report other than "Use the OgreMAgicUpdater to update grass.mesh" and so on.

- Or, I end up not messing with the character files, and try again anyways, this time it's saying it's missing state "FaceNormal", obviously, but what is 'FaceNormal', if it was just working a moment ago, it simply crashed because we did not have a 'TurnRight' animation for the head??

- There are a number of different crash reports when trying to even look at the model. the game crashes before I can get a glimpse of the model though, if I scale it.

The only animation that exists for head, body, and tail is the same Idle animation.


All of your help is very appreciated, though I would really like someone to help me out personally, I would really dislike to see us toss our player models just because of this messy error, while it works, it just appears to be missing pieces/we don't understand how to implement new player models 100%, so it would be helpful to understand why this error happens, etc etc.

I wonder if somehow this animation is somehow over-writing the previous animation somehow, or if there could be some path-corruption going on, I just don't know how to fix a path-corruption in the case or w/e, I re-exported I don't know how many times, different versions of the model.
