PostSubject: Hosting problem   Mon Oct 12, 2015 3:56 pm

Greetings,

so, I am hosting server for my friend. I followed every step of Witacha's Hosting Guide, but mine router is really different than her, so maybe I messed up something. I did the Firewall stuff:

Then, I did the Router stuff. I have really different type of router, I have many options in the left menu, such as: Forwarding (Virtual Servers, Port Triggering, DMZ, UPnP) ; Access Control (Rule, Host, Target, Schedule) and many more. Here is the stuff I filled up, because I didn't knew what to fill up...
The Forwarding - Virtual Servers:

The Forwarding - Port Triggering:

Access Control - Rule:

Access Control - Host:

Okay, right... Then I did the no-ip stuff.

Then, I downloaded DUC v4.1.1. I think this stuff works just fine, or?

Right, then I edited the Config.h and built the Solution.
I had to put the no-ip adress in it, right?

Okay, so I was waiting and waiting for the game Build folder, then I opened the loginserver.exe and gameserver.exe . It looks that it is working just fine. I think...

Then, I launched up the game.exe, tried to register but it writes: "Our connection request has failed :c"

*Sigh*... Anyone?

As the hoster, make the file localip.txt in the same folder as game.exe and put in the following:
Code:
127.0.0.1
#

Others don't need the localip, so don't include it

Clear what you filled in "access control".

Into the "virtual servers" you need to add the ports 40000 and 40010, and enter there the IP of your PC running the server, in the local network (might be something like 192.168.0.32 or any other last number - you can find it by running command "ipconfig" in cmd).
For preventing of changing local IP of your PC I would advice you to add a 'static local IP' bound to your computer.

In order to see whether other players can connect to your server, you must delete the localip.txt and use your address to simulate external connection; otherwise you won't see if there are any problems.

Try opening your ddns address in the browser. What does it show?

So... uhm... Well I am not skilled with this stuff at all, so I am pretty confused right now. So I have to delete the localip.txt or add my IP there? I really don't understand this part.

Nope... It is not connecting to the Internet but to the provider.

I've checked the router settings, they seem fine.

It's not the router problem, i suppose. When we connect from the external internet to our IP shown in ddns, it conects not to the computer/router but to provider. Should we ask our providers to forward 40000 and 40010 to our local computers?(

Em do not set up the rules in the router

Delete that
It's only the firewall of your computer not the router
