Figured I would share this with the rest of you instead of a select few.
What I have been tinkering with was to recreate our in a next-generation engine.
Those tools have improved to a point where I am able to use them.

The first thing on my to do was to recreate our iconic Default map.
This video was posted yesterday

Indeed this make a lot time easier to make details or defined zones in a map.


What a lovely work you got there.

Definitely interesting use such engine for the outdated IT game.

...Wait, so it's possible to actually make IT in Unreal Engine?? Or possible to make maps in UE and put them in Ogre's IT?

Either way, if either of those are possible, that'd be epic.

I just imported the default height map into unreal and told it how detailed it should be, size and height.
Then I smoothed out the map here and there and changed a few things, like adding routes to get places, since UE's physics allows for the same kind of "You cant run this steep hill" that FH does.

I can't see it happening on the Ogre platform. More than likely, IT would have to shift to Unreal.

Or someone can do a total overhaul of IT with much updated Ogre software. XD

I've been messing with Unreal 4 now myself for several months, spent a pretty penny on networking help and I really would rather put my hands in buckets of rat traps than mess with IT's source for a while.
