Free for anyone to use in their server, I have no requirements for use. ;3

Though, note that it is NOT rigged, nor exported. The IT rig confuses me too much to weight it to the model, sorry, so whoever uses this will have to do that.

Also; it may LOOK high-poly, but in actuality it's not. No worse than the original IT heads.

The teeth, tongue, and eyes are separate objects because I don't really know which part they are joined to usually in servers, feel free to join them as one object to the proper body part.(as in, part of the body or the head.)

Also... they're meant to go together.

Anyway, now for pics:

Blender version 2.49b is a specific blender version required to properly export and use with IT's blender files and exporter. It's the one we've all been forced to use due to newer versions containing additions and content that is either non-exportable in the mesh exporter for IT or OGRE just doesn't like to run.

But since you haven't rigged it, the only loss of information will be faces and most likely UV map.

If this has since changed from the last time this as confirmed, someone correct me.

No, just means it's a lot of work to make it usable in IT.

Yeah, okay, tried opening with 2.49b and it wouldn't work.

However, I found a simple and easy fix. :3

Just import it as a .3ds file, and it'll work. Here's the .3ds exported files, just import them into Blender and they'll work properly: https://www.mediafire.com/?gbr9zndr8zcr1ff

Not high-poly? Shocked it contains >50k polygons for head and ~10k for body Surprised

It looks no worse than IT's heads and bodies in edit mode. |D

This isn't meant as offensive or anything, I'm just checking- do you actually understand what the meaning of low and high poly is?

While it might be fine for newer games, IT's engine is an absolute processor hog and adding high poly content simply increases what's required to run the game - even for a old game with old graphics, etc etc. A model too high poly (for IT standards) that is everywhere in the map (especially a player model) would slow the game down, lag, glitch and then eventually lead to possible crashing.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great model, just perhaps not suitable for IT's limitations.

Just a note. If it is 1k model or 50k model doesn't matter. What matter is how many instances of objects there are in a said map.

I'll try and lower the poly count then, I guess.

Question though, do the faces have to be perfect squares/triangles/etc. or can they be irregular shaped?

I could easily use the 'decimate' modifier on it, but that usually makes the faces irregular-shaped, though the actual model will usually retain it's shape but not be as perfectly smooth. .-.

Does the shape of the faces matter?

EDIT: Examples included; Does it matter if the faces look like this?:

An excellent program for all types of work with meshes and conversion is Unwrap3D.
Definitely worth the money. www.unwrap3d.com

OK just had a quick look at your Lion Head after I exported it from Blender.
The standard IT Head1 used on most IT servers has 4,480 poly's and 2,582 Vertices.
Your head has 28,157 poly's and 28,377 vertices.

So your completed models would be about 4 times the number of poly's and 15 times the number of vertices.

So much more complex then the standard player characters used in an IT game.

Your characters would cause major lag especially for players who's computer are of a lower spec.

BTW I reduced the head by 80% and it still looked good. Therefore poly-reduction is a possible solution.
