PostSubject: How to add more than 6 ambient songs   Sat Sep 06, 2014 6:03 pm

You will need: a working Impressive Title server, C++ Visual Studio 2010 & a mp3 file.

Alright so, open Solution.sln and then game > MagixSoundManager.h

You will find there:

Quote :

#define MUSIC_TITLE "title.mp3"
#define MUSIC_HURRY "hurry.mp3"
#define MUSIC_BOSS1 "boss1.mp3"
#define MUSIC_FINALE "finale.mp3"
#define MUSIC_CREDITS "credits.mp3"
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT1 "ambient1.mp3"
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT2 "ambient2.mp3"
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT3 "ambient3.mp3"
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT4 "ambient4.mp3"
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT5 "ambient5.mp3"
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT6 "ambient6.mp3"

Alright so, add a line after #define MUSIC_AMBIENT6 "ambient6.mp3" and do it this way:

Quote :
#define MUSIC_AMBIENT7 "ambient7.mp3"

if you want more than 7 ambient songs, repeat what I said and just replace 7 with 8 and so on. (You can put whatever name you want but if it's ambientnumber.mp3 I guess it's easier to switch songs :p

Done? Don't build the solution yet!

Now, in the line 269 or so, you will find this:

Quote :

{
                       musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT1);
                       musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT2);
                       musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT3);
                       musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT4);
                       musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT5);
                       musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT6);
               }

Now it's the same thing as the other. Add another line and add musicList.push_back(MUSIC_AMBIENT7);, remember, if you have want more than 7 ambient songs, do what I just said: just repeat and replace with 8 and so on.

Now just rebuild the application, launch your game and go in-game and wait a while until the songs you've just put appear. To make it faster just move ambient1.mp3, ambient2.mp3, ambient3.mp3, ambient4.mp3, ambient5.mp3 & ambient6.mp3 in other folder and launch the game, login and there you have the new songs. ;p if the game crashes after a while then you didn't do it correctly

So this is the end of this small tutorial. I hope I helped someone that wanted more than 6 ambient songs ^_^; any help just shoot me a PM.

I don't know what is the max for ambient songs but I wouldn't recommend doing it. I think 10 is sufficient ;p
