Hey! Hey, you! Yes, you!

Do you use the Multiple Bodies source? Does it bug you that every body has to be shaped and warped to accommodate the exact same set of mask layers?

Well that is all in the past, my friend! With a few simple steps (and roughly 30 minutes of your time) your Multiple Bodies can go from drab to FAB!




Here's what you need to do:

1--Open your source and the file called "MagixUnit.h"
2--Make the changes you see in red, conveniently quoted right here

3--Build that puppy!
4--Go find your "MagixMod.material" files
5--Change the labeling on everything related to BodyModColour and BodyMark so they look thusly:

(whoah, just like the Heads!)

6--Rinse and repeat for EVERY body you currently have. (the more bodies, the more time, sadly. Hence why it took my half an hour for my set of 7)
7--Run the game and double-check your material is set properly
8--CREATE NEW AND EXCITING BODIES WITH UNIQUE MASK LAYERS!




Super simple stuff, mate. Enjoy~





Just so we're clear: You will have to save your unique masks as new image files and link them into the material at the appropriate areas. It's just code, not magic~

I cannot thank you enough for this Hamilton. I actually just got some new player models that use a different UV and could not figure out how to make it work. You posted this just in time, haha

I got it to work, but when i press back to go to the previous body it is white, how can i fix this?

Hymn...I'm not sure. Might have to fiddle with some things.

Does it stay white if you cycle forward to that body? Are all back-selected bodies white or just the most recently previously select? If you cycle back an extra body and then forward again, is it still white?

Typically...white bodies are bodies with no material. Odd that it'd find the material and then loose it....(well unless it's running off redeyes recent changes for encypting files...that thing randomly drops data like a bad habit [oy but even then it never picks the exact same thing twice...])

I have the same issue at times. If I try to use the first body and apply a marking, it turns white. However, if I go forward and back a body, it works fine. This could also be caused by the marking colors feature I added though.

ah..aum..it seems youtube has been blocked though my router again. can't see the video whilst embedded. can i trouble you for a url/link i can proxy?

wracking my brain...i'm almost positive i showed every step for this....ML has yet to re-create the error...

Changed some files...still couldn't re-create this error.

It may be a material based error but...that inconsistency really bugs me about that assumption. that initial body shouldn't wig out after loading up normally.

Are your files encrypted? With the exception of differences in coding unrelated to this, it's the only thing i can think of that'd be different from my own files. (ml currently runs on 0 encryption)


Maybe trigger the error and then do a fast esc->quit so you can pin-point it in the ogre logs? it might be able to reveal just what it's attempting when it goes blank.

Hmm, no we do not encrypt our files, but this question poped into my head, would assigning the mesh to the bodytex.png work?

This has been dead for a bit, but I just wanted to let you know I found the error

Dunno why I never bothered to check the ogrelog before :B

If I don't change the first body the source recognizes it as just Body, and it tried to find BodyMark1_. Easy enough of a fix.

Thought I'd drop that here for anyone else having similar issues
