HUGE WARNING READ!! SOME NETGEAR ROUTERS DO NOT HAVE STATIC IP ADDRESSES YOU MUST HAVE A STATIC IP ADDRESS!! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ONE USE THIS http://portforward.com/help/setup_static_ip_address.htm

Make sure you have your username and password for your router some do not require a password like mine.

Open Command promt or cmd

type in ipconfig and hit enter

Look for your "Default Gateway"

Found it? Good.

Right click by the set of numbers corresponding to the Default Gateway and hit mark.

Highlight the numbers and hit Ctrl C

Paste the IP you just copied into your web browser and hit Enter this will bring us to your routers website most Netgear routers default usernames is "admin" and the password is literally "password" unless you changed it.

you will be brought to a page like this or similar.

See Portforwarding/Triggering? Click that.

Next a page like this should come up hit CUSTOM SERVICE

That brings us to this

Enter your servers name

Make sure TCP/UDP is selected

Enter Your first ports example: 40000
Enter End port: 40010

^---You put these in the solution of the source if you forgot what ports you used

OH GOD WHAT IS MY SERVER IP ADDRESS??

Don't freak out lets go back to CMD if you closed it out reopen it and type in ipconfig and hit enter.

Try your

DefaultGateway
IPV4
Or google What is my IP

For me I always use DefaultGateway but for you it could be different

"Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the Server IP Address box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer's ip address into that box."

To check if your ports have been opened
http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm

In some cases even if the programs claim your ports are closed they in fact may be open my router lied to me and told me all of mine were closed.

Question or concerns let me know

This is the old version of Netgear what you posted here, when I enter in the 192.168... it brings me to the Netgear Genie.

And I had no trouble entering in the IT1 and IT2 rules that I made in Windows Firewall, but the IT3 had the exact same ports as IT1, and it says this:

If you need any more information, just tell me.
Please help~

This thread is really old and the OP doesn't visit KITO anymore. You should move this to a thread in Support instead c:
