Looking for something to really jazz up your server? Still using the original files? Know your way around the XML converter? Then have I got the download for you, my friend!
The download at the bottom of this page contains 2 text file documents in a zipped folder. They are very clearly labeled. One is to be used with head1-armature1.skeleton. The other is for head2-armature2.skeleton. Very straight forward.
Opening these files will show you a lot of weird XML code jibberish. Fret not! For that data in there is 5 new facial animations! Animations that don't need the source code to be added into your game.
"omg hammy, tell us more!"
Step 1: grab your head1-armature1.skeleton and head2-armature2.skeleton files.
Step 2: copy and paste them into the folder where you have your XML converter located. (should be OgreCommandlineTools)
Step 3: drag those bad-boys into the converter and get yourself some .XML files.
Step 4: open them using WordPad.
Step 5: run a search inside the file for the line " </animations> ".
Step 6: you'll be at a pair of lines that go like this:
Step 6.5: add a line between them.
Step 7: open or go back to the text documents you downloaded and unzipped.
Step 7.5: remember that they are for a specific file so make sure you are going between the right text file and XML file. DO NOT MIX THEM UP!
Step 8: select all the data in the text file for the XML you want to edit.
Step 9: go to that XML file and paste the data in the empty line we made earlier.
Step 10: close the XML and allow the changes to be saved.
Step 11: repeat for the other XML and text files.
Step 12: run your altered XML files back through the XML converter to get your .skeleton files updated.
Step 13: drag and drop or copy and paste those fresh .skeleton files into your models folder where they originated from.
Step 14: open your " unitemote" file.
Step 15: make some new emotes using your new animations (i've pasted some at the bottom for you)
Step 16: save your changes.
Step 17: go into your game and test those puppies out! (in a secluded area or you will cause your players to crash)
"how does it work?"
magic. also, emote animations aren't hard-coded to the game. you can make and add as many as you want just using the unitemote file.
